In a way, it does because they show what they had with them and in a way they didnt.

My grandpapy was in (Vietnam) this war and he shows me what he went through by showing pictures.

Today’s war hardly shows live field reporters, like shown in the video here.

  2.   Ashla Says:

It goes along with it because it was very hard for the people in Vietnam and they carried many things to help them along.
It takes a lot of courage to do what many people do in war and I would never be that courageous honestly. But i look up to them as hereos and they help me learn how much responsibility and hard work it is to help our country
They have the same outfits and weaponary, they die the same way/ During vietnam you can’t do a lot like you can today like relax your always getting attacked or something like that.

  3.   Sarah Says:

The men in the story and the movie both dont understand why they are where they are. They show me that you have to have a lot of heart to be able to to something like that and that i never want to be a soldier. The similarities are that we have people that are deticated to do this. The differencs is that we know have more supplies, more people and more detication.

  4.   Kenny Says:

it explains what was going on in Vietnam.

well my grandpa was a Sgt.Major in Vietnam and told me and my brother stories about when he was there.

coverage on war today you see on the news and theres not very many videos from people actually in Iraq.

  5.   stephan Says:

They both show how the war went and how men died.

I had like four or five family members fight in World War I.

Today there is more technology now than was available back then.

This video shows what it was like in Vietnam. All the hardships and challanges they went through. As a learner it has shown me how the peolpe lived day to day in Vietnam and makes me wonder what it is like overseas. In the video the reporter asked qusetions during combat today they don’t do that today.

  7.   specialzebracakes Says:

Well, it resembles it bybeing on the same subject and giving me a visual on what it was like. It lets me see what he (the reporter) saw during the at the time and how he felt. The coverage today is alot different than back then I think. Of course I really wouldn’t know what it was really like back then. It seems they use the same guns and all.

It gives people a first hand look at what some of the soldiers carried with them.

It lets you know what some of the soldiers that fought in Vietnam
opinions about the war how they feel being in the last place they ever thought they be. Seeing friends alive for one minute and dead the next.

Broadcasting war has changed over the years no doubt it in the the war less news reporters didn’t want to risk their lives in an area that was condisdered unsurviable. unlike today news repoters
survival rating increase ten fold because of to day military advances meaning more coverage and more documentaries about it.

  9.   Stephen Ortiz Says:

Almost everyone in the viedo were proud to be at war but scared to be there. Some of the men in the viedo didnt know why they were fighting accept for USA. From the real soldiers you get a better idea of the heartache they had for the war, and yet some of the love they have for their country. Just like the soldiers in the story. The coverage today is covered really good. They really dont send news crews in th battle any and since so many people died in Vietnam people in the US not at war protest really bad. so if people dont know whats really going on at war then there is less protest.

  10.   Tom Says:

The men of this movie didn’t understand why and where they were in Vietnam. The real soldier has to take a lot courage to fight in this war. The war in Vietnam takes a lot longer than the war in Iraq as of right now. The similarities that I seen that they have bombs and tanks compared to the War in Iraq. The differences that I saw the clothing, the hats and other kinds of stuff.
